ARTICLE I - PURPOSE

The purposes for which this corporation is organized are to operate a not-for-profit mutual benefit corporation for social, educational and recreational purposes including the specific purposes of owning, operating, maintaining or leasing one or more fixed-wing aircraft for the private, non-commercial transportation and general use of the corporation members, their families and others as the Board of Directors may allow, pursuant to the By-Laws of this corporation, and other purposes as set out in the Articles of Incorporation;

Estimated Costs

Varies according to number of members.  Bylaws limit the ratio of people to airplanes to ten to one.  The Corporation is nonprofit and the bylaws prohibit distribution of excess funds.  Membership fees can be reduced/increased by the Board of Directors as needed to insure stability and protect club assets.  All members share equal access to assets and equal risk.

Flight Rules

  1. All members of the Corporation shall comply with all FAR's and Corporation Rules while operating Corporation aircraft. In the event of an in-flight emergency requiring immediate action the member may deviate from any of these rules to the extent required to meet the emergency.
  2. For the purposes of training or proficiency checks required by the Corporation, the Board of Directors designates FAA certified flight instructors who are members of the Corporation or employed by Tig Air.
  3. All members must be checked out and approved for Pilot In Command (PIC) privileges in each Corporation aircraft by a designated flight instructor before flying as PIC in that aircraft.
  4. A member must perform a thorough preflight inspection of the aircraft, including a visual inspection of the fuel quantity, prior to commencing flight. Any damage or discrepancies discovered by a member will be assumed to be the responsibility of the last user unless

Scheduling Policy

  • Following are examples of possible scheduling restrictions in case we ever need to restrict things.  So far we have never had to use any.  Club members have always respected other member's needs and desires.  On the rare occasions when we have had conflicts, a phone call and schedule swap works things out.  In 2009 there were only three days when one or the other airplane was not available for a flight.
